Coffee makes
everything better.
Our family had the opportunity recently to visit Costa Rica. Amazing. Incredible. Delicious.
The traditional way to make coffee in CR is using a pour-over stand called a chorreador. We make ours from woods native to Costa Rica, and source the filter sock from a Costa Rican supplier. If you want a pour-over coffee maker that looks as looks as good as it tastes, order your own Flip Flop Workshop chorreador and enjoy. The stand and the bolsita filter are included — jungle and beach sadly not included.
Instead of using a pod and pushing a button, why not slow down just a moment and create your own coffee masterpiece.
Pour-over coffee is easy and delicious, and allows you to make the perfect cup. Does someone in your family like coffee lighter, or darker, than you? It’s so easy to customize and keep everyone happy when each cup is unique.
Pour-over coffee
Finally a coffee maker that looks good on your counter. We make them from responsibly sourced Central American hardwoods, including Granadillo, Tropical Walnut, Mahogany, and Monkeypod. Each chorreador is finished with a durable treatment that enhances the wood’s natural beauty, and protects against any oops moments.
We can also custom engrave each chorreador. This one has the Costa Rican flag and 2024, as a reminder of our trip.
¿Mas café?
Add roughly two tablespoons of ground coffee per cup of coffee into the bolsita filter. Slowly pour around 8 ounces of boiling water into the filter and let it drop through.
Now the hard part: Wait for your fresh delicious coffee to drip into your mug!
Now the easy part: Enjoy.
After each use, give the bolsita a good rinse and allow it to air-dry. Don’t use soap! The bolsitas will last from months to years, and are easily replaced when needed.
